False Publicity of Banah Sugar 2301dfj567834 luis sabbagh
Submitted 2014-03-01 18:14:30 MIAMI -- Who'd have guessed a lawsuit-laden sugar company run by a former cocaine trafficker wasn't a great partner for Miami-Dade and Florida officials?

Hialeah's Banah International Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Friday http://www.billsfootballpro.com/Bills-Corey-Brown-Jersey/ , a year after it was approved for $430,000 in tax incentives, reports the New York Times -- and a year after none of the agencies awarding such incentives apparently noticed a convicted drug dealer was running the company, or that it was facing four lawsuits for nonpayment and had been slapped with an IRS lien.

Instead, when Banah chairman Alexander I. Perez promised to bring almost 300 jobs to a new 300,000-square foot headquarters in Hialeah, he got help securing both local and state incentives from the county, its Beacon Council economic development group, and the state's Enterprise Florida.

The deal was heralded: a street in Hialeah was renamed Banah Sweet Way with Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Commissioner Rebeca Sosa, and Hialeah Mayor Carlos Hernandez present. Then-U.S. Rep. David Rivera even gave Perez a congressional certificate for "outstanding and invaluable service to the community," reports Miami New Times, the duo posing in Washington, D.C. with Congresswoman Illeana Ros-Lehitinen and Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart.

But on Friday, Banah reported in Chapter 11 filings that it owes between $1,000,000 and $10,000,000 to 232 people and companies, according to the Miami Herald http://www.billsfootballpro.com/Bills-Cordy-Glenn-Jersey/ , and has just 15 employees. A promised job fair was never held.

Though officials told the Times that Banah hadn't yet received any of the tax breaks, the misstep is the latest vetting embarrassment for Enterprise Florida, the public-private economic development arm of the state that Governor Rick Scott expects to help him deliver on his campaign promises of job creation. Scott has asked for roughly $300 million in incentives, an increase from the previous budget of $110 million, just as the group faced withering questions from lawmakers about whether or not it can justify its own existence. A report this month by Integrity Florida revealed that Enterprise Florida has doled out roughly $1.7 billion since its creation in 1995, but has delivered just 103,544 jobs -- only half of its target, and eight years late. Author Resource:- After the well-publicized bankruptcy of Digital Domain, a Port St. Lucie animation company that received a whopping $20 million in incentives from the state, Enterprise Florida promised a better vetting process. But when Perez failed to disclose his four-year stint in federal prison or the ensuing probation that ended in 2009, no one at the county or state level apparently checked into Perez or his company enough to notice. For decades, medical professionals have warned people to quit smoking. Traditional cigarettes are known carcinogens, as well as causing a host of other lung problems and heart issues. Now that wholesale electronic cigarettes are becoming popular, many smokers are wondering if this is a safer alternative, and electronic cigarettes do have several advantages over tobacco cigarettes.

People begin to smoke for a variety of reasons, but they typically stick with it because of the addictive substance of nicotine. All tobacco cigarettes have some nicotine, some have more than others. With an electronic cigarette, you can select wholesale E-liquids with as much nicotine as a brand such as Camels or Marlboro Reds or you can select a liquid with less nicotine or none at all. If you were hoping to quit smoking, you could start out smoking E-cigs with full nicotine and gradually reduce it down to zero http://www.billsfootballpro.com/Bills-Colton-Schmidt-Jersey/ , while still enjoying smoking cigarettes.

Of course, it’s not just the nicotine in tobacco that is harmful. Once you light up a cigarette, more than 7,000 chemicals can be released. Many of these chemicals are very harmful to our bodies and the smoke also can harm others. Among the substances that might be released are lead, arsenic and other poisons. Not only will the smoker be at risk, the second-hand smoke is dangerous and toxic as well, which is why tobacco cigarettes are banned in so many public places.

While research is still ongoing, the vapor produced by electronic cigarettes certainly seems to produce far fewer toxins. In fact, the thin mist evaporates quickly and you avoid the toxins as well as the nasty smell of tobacco smoke. There is no smoke produced when you use an electronic cigarette. The E-liquid in the cigarette is heated by a small battery and this produces the vapor.

Obviously, the reduced health risks are a huge advantage to smokers and the general public, but the electronic cigarettes have a few more advantages over their tobacco counterpart. Because nothing is burned in a wholesale E-Cigarette, these cigarettes pose no fire danger. Fires started by tobacco products cause hundreds of deaths each year, as well as thousands of injuries and millions of dollars in damage to structures and nature. In addition, E-Cig smokers don’t just toss cigarettes on the ground. The E-Cigarette is reusable, so there’s much less waste involved.

Another big plus is that wholesale E-Cigs tend to be much less expensive than tobacco, especially if you live in a region where cigarettes are heavily taxed. Plus, there are many wonderful, unique f.
